I haven't dabbled with their new Soundpaint Engine but the libs are rather decently priced and I assume that they're going to add more of the old Kontakt Libraries to their own Engine like they did with the Bazantar - and it's only 20$ compared to 148$ for the Kontakt version. Nevertheless I gave in last month and bought the Claire Woodwinds when they were like 75% off. Sadly they're still lacking a Century Woodwinds library to complete the whole Century Orchestra. Century Brass and Artisan Brass) - also their Century Strings were worth the money on a flash sale. I switched to a lot of 8DIO's stuff when their stuff was on massive sales with additional freebies. Here's a nice overview about the Presonus Orchestra. The Presonus Orchestra imho is getting the job done, but I felt like there were better options for my taste. Most likely gonna give it a try sometime. I haven't dabbled with EW Play yet, but I've been tempted to every now and then. instead of having to go "all in" just to start doing stuff. This came quite in handy for me because it allows me to slowly build up my own collection of various different plugins from e.g. , Master class tutorials to dig deeper into the DAW and general mixing / mastering stuff - and all of that of a very reasonable and affordable amount per month. DAW, Notion, 100GB+ of quite decent sample libraries, hi-quality add-ons like various effects / EQ's / limiters / mastering and mixing tools / etc. It comes with everything out of the box right from the start to get you going. It has the perfect ease of use / complexity balance and it's very intuitive for my taste. Within the 30 days of the trial version I managed to come along nicely with good results - without ever having to look up any manual on how to configure, or were to find stuff. There were two mayor reasons I went for Studio One: I haven't bought anything at its full price, lol. like VSTBuzz, als or ) I feel like they were decently priced - given the quality they offer. But with all the ongoing sales and discounts (esp. Yeah, you are correct, none of them are free. Last but not least: I hope you enjoy it and constructive criticism is always appreciated! Still got stuff to learn! ![]() some free download codes in case you wanna grab it! So, long story short - I hit a spot where the soundtrack felt kinda "finished" and I'm proud to present: The Atmosphere of DysmantleĪnd in celebration of the release. So it's prolly not everyone's taste but that's perfectly fine! It ended up being piano driven with wailing strings, mixed with ambiances - it's slow paced and tries to be somewhere between melancholic, melodramatic, dystopian with a bit of solitariness. So I spend a wee bit of money for Software and some Sample Libraries and tried to get a hang of the basics - mostly how the technical stuff works, not necessarily "how to compose awesome music".Īfter the first few arrangements and explorations I figured I need some sort of subject / topic instead of doing random stuff and I felt like creating some sort of underscore for Dysmantle, mixed with some field recordings to add some sort of "story telling" to the tracks. A magnificent game that came out of nowhere, offered lots of engaging content and excels with it's unique style and charm! I certainly hope there'll be more of Dysmantle in the not so distant future (may it be official or mods!).ĭuring the various Corona lockdowns over the past two years I began to tinker around with creating music as a new hobby.
